Team Information

The 2010 Smokefree Perth Criteriums will have three categorys:

Open Men’s
Open Women's
Support Men’s

For 2011 Expressions of Interest for teams to compete will be open early September and close 5pm on 3rd December 2010. To ensure the highest standard field for each event, only after the closing date will nominations be considered.

Acceptance of teams will be at the discretion of event organisers; acceptance will be based on recent team results from either the SmokeFree Perth Criteriums or similar events, as well as individual rider profiles.

Teams will be notified of their selection by 15th December 2010.

Competition Numbers

To ensure that the SmokeFree Perth Criteriums has the highest standard field for each event, there will be limited places available in each category.

Open Men's - 12 Teams, four cyclists per team (48 riders total)

Open Women's - 10 Teams/40 cyclists, four cyclists per team or individual nominations (**)

Support Men's - 12 Teams, four cyclist per team (48 riders total) (**, #)

Notes:

** - Open Women's Category will need to achieve minimum numbers for the event to go ahead. A minimum of 20 nominated riders is required by the cut off date. In the event of not achieving minimum numbers (20 women) by the cut off date indicated above, consideration will be given to either a second support men's race or a masters category being implemented. Women will have the option to race in these categories.

# - Individual nominations for the Support Men's category will only be considered if event organisers do not receive enough nominations to fill the field. If you are an individual wanting to race please contact TriEvents to discuss options.

License
All riders must hold an Elite Race License with Cycling Australia (or equivalent from another country). Licenses will be handed in at the Riders Briefing to officials and will be returned following Series presentations at the final event.

Qualification
There will not be an official qualification process for the 2010 Smokefree Perth Criteriums however acceptance of all riders is at the sole discretion of the Organisers. The Organisers may request details of results of riders before accepting riders into events.

Team Uniform
All teams are expected to have cyclists riding in exactly the same kit (knicks, jersey, gloves and socks). Each team’s kit is to be approved prior to acceptance of the team. In the instance where the Team Sponsor is organising the team, it is the responsibility of the Team Sponsor to ensure all team members have the appropriate matching kit.

Riders Lounge
At each event there will be a Riders Lounge which will be set up as an area for Riders to store belongings including bikes whilst not racing. Event organisers will not take responsibility for lost or stolen items stored in this area.

Media Expectation
All riders are expected to make themselves available to media interviews at events where requested. All riders are expected to make themselves available to the media for interviews leading up to the event.

Marketing Expectation
All riders are expected to assist with the marketing of the event via the distribution of electronic advertising materials provided by the Organiser. Assistance from the riders and sponsors in marketing the Perth Criteriums is the integral to the ongoing success of the event.

Rules
All events will be conducted under the regular rules/regulations of the Western Australian Cycling Federation. The Commissaries’ decisions are to be accepted by the Rider’s at all times.

Behaviour
Good sportsmanship is expected from all cyclists during the races. Any act by a rider that is seen to jeopardise the integrity of the event will result in the rider being withdrawn from the event at the discretion of the Organisers and the Commissaries.

Race Briefing
All riders must attend a compulsory event briefing on the Wednesday evening preceding the races - 6.30pm on Wednesday 9th February at a venue to be determined. A full briefing from the Organisers and Commissaries will be conducted. All valid race licenses are to be handed in at this stage for the duration of the Perth Criteriums and numbers will be issued.

In the event of a rider not being able to attend, notification must be given to the Organisers and he/she may nominate someone else to attend and hand in the rider’s license and collect briefing materials.

Appearance Money
There will be no appearance or travel money paid to any riders in the 2011 event.

Post Race Party
There will be a post event party after the final event at a venue to be confirmed.

Sponsorship Fee:

Open Men's - Team of four: $2,200.00

Open Women's - Team of four: $750.00 or Individual: $180.00

Support Men's - Team of four $750.00

Notes:
i. The above fees are inclusive of GST.
ii. Payment must be received 14 days after issue of invoice.
iii. The sponsorship fee does not include the creation/printing of team kits.
